So while roaming around the old blog roll, I checked out Mike Ayers blog every now and again and well something has been brought to the forefront. There is currently a blog called Ruthless Truth which the author Ciaran Healy is almost literally pushing people through the gate of enlightenment. I suggest you check out the link above and it gives his account of Enlightenment and what ended up happening. As a note, and be forewarned that your ideas about enlightenment aren’t correct, if anything they keep you from it. Mainly for this main point that I’m about to make. There is no you to be enlightened nor a you at all.

You might ask me how this is possible, obviously something is typing this and something is stringing thoughts together. This is where the flag goes up, is that true? Does there need to be a me there in order for things to be done, so many sages point to it, yet no one heeds what is actually being said. If they had then they would know what the truth is. Its that there is no cause for things to be done to have an effect, but that things are just happening. There does not have to be a me or a you there for things to happen. Thoughts are happening yes, those are real, and typing is happening, but there is no you doing neither. IF there was, then point out who is doing the typing and who is doing the thinking.

Truly Truly Truly inspect this. IF you do, you will find there there is nothing there doing any of that, and that it is wholly just happening. I am not typing this message and I am not thinking these things, there is nothing to think these things, the message is just being conveyed, and then the message will be read (as it is probably be read now)

For example, by seeing that grass will blow, it doesn’t not take credit for it’s appearance of being blown, it doesn’t take ownership over itself, so what makes the I any different. The thought of I is there and that seems to be real, but that doesn’t mean that I exist. Life is being lived and that is all that there is to it. There is no looker from the eye, it is truly like the sky and the cloud and all of the thought, emotion, drama, objects, whatever! are just cute little clouds. Flowery Trappings to get you caught on the simplest fact that you do not exist.

There is literally nothing there to even reference, personal experience? How is it personal, aside from the fact that the I concept is tagging that is was experiencing something, but then again the thought of I is a thought, and it isn’t necessary to have the I concept for experience to happen.

Does a tree make a sound when it falls in the forest, as Norquist would say, hell yeah it does. IT doesn’t need you to verify that a sound happened. How selfish is that, “I didn’t hear it so it didn’t happen.” What a bunch of rubbish.

Take you out of the equation and you reach that thing many call enlightenment. Fear, Anger, Love, Frustration, probably all will still be there, but there is no you that attaches to them, so what power do they have other then their purest form. They just happen and then stop when they pass just like a cloud will dissipate when it is done with its work. It doesn’t even know it is doing “its” work of being a cloud, nor does a tree know that it is treeing, why are we any different?

There is no separation because there is no you, once you truly look and realize this, you are free. I wouldn’t even call it freedom because you’ve always been this way, it is just recognition.

I was a fool to believe that nothing existed.

come to find out that everything else existed except for me.

I’ve been reading Jed Mckenna lately and it’s really been allowing me to see some things that I haven’t previously been seeing. Again, thanks again to Mike Ayers for this wonderful recommendation (whether he directly recommended the book or through his blog rantings :P ). I’m not really sure how to describe Jed Mckenna but, there is something about the story in the book Spiritually Incorrect Enlightenment that really just hits at a deeper level. In the book he says the story isn’t about… well the people in the story, the story of the hero is really about us the reader. The story IS us, in our everyday lives, we live in a facade, a dream like state which I’ve touched on in past blogs, but I don’t think I really fully comprehended it (or don’t really think I have fully comprehended it even now) but I see some things that I didn’t see when everything was intellect based, at the point at which I was medicating myself instead of seeing it in REAL time.

For some the dream like state needs to be maintained, there is nothing wrong in the dream state, I don’t actually feel any anguish for it, knowing I’m sitting here in it as I speak my mind, but then again when seeing it, it’s almost like even though I feel no anguish or no hatred towards it, I also feel the utmost disgust for it, because its like seeing myself as a fraud, a doppleganger, a shadow, a menace, a bain to my own existence. Everything that I am right now is false, the lifestyle i have right now, is false. It’s all automation from different things that this human condition has picked up. I don’t get how this could of gone on for so long, and it makes me wonder how long this has been going on for, for me to be able to see this (although it doesn’t matter how long it has gone on for, that doesn’t help right now, all that matters is that the seeing has taken place right now and is happening right now.)
