Changing Behaviors
You must be the change you want to see in this world. -Mahatma Ghandi
And so the story goes from many great sages and gurus of this world. When my self-realization came it brought about a lot of dirt and scum from the depths of myself to give me the opportunity to take responsibility for it. What a magnificient opportunity it was as it uproot my last relationship, through jealousy coming up and a sense of control. These two were my two biggest demons if you will, that had to be addressed and thankfully I had done so. It is not that they do not exist but seeing thoughts for what they are makes me appreciate them that much more and what power they have over the human being when they are not consciously made aware of. You cannot change your reality if you do not see where you are stuck. This is why it seems so difficult to pull yourself out of lower frequency states like jealousy, depression, anger, etc. However knowing that these states are nothing but stories that we tell ourselves, can they become one of our best assets, allowing us to learn from them, and to treat them as guests in our temple. (the human being). This is all that these things ask for, is our unconditional loving awareness to give them attention.
By addressing them, you now have the opportunity to respond to them accordingly and to sit with them, cherish them, understand their mechanism and decide if they are serving you or not. If they are not serving you, then with a little practice you can allow them to pass through you instead of reacting to the feelings that the body is feeling. Also the deep breathing or zen (meditation) methods which I describe help process these emotions happening due to past thoughts coming up.
